When it comes to training the next generation of fighters, Floyd Mayweather is all for it. Helping out those within Mayweather Promotions is just a bonus.
Agent Alonzo Earle recently posted a video of Mayweather (50-0) sparring with WBA Lightweight Champion Gervonta Davis. The former boxing great is preparing Davis (23-0) for his upcoming fight against Leo Santa Cruz on October 24. With the caption “Big Dawgs”, the ten-minute video features Davis showing off his power jab while also working around the ring.

This is not the first young champion to learn from Mayweather. WBC Lightweight Champion Devin Haney has been sparring with “Money” Mayweather. It is all part of Mayweather’s goal of eventually becoming a true trainer to boxing’s future.
Davis beat Yuriorkis Gamboa via TKO in December for the WBA Lightweight Championship. Before that, He dominated the super-featherweight division, holding onto the WBA and IBF Super-Featherweight Belts. “Tank” has 22 wins via knockout. It is unknown if he would stay at 130 if he were to win Santa Cruz’s title due to the weight cut and the fighters he would be competing against.
The Showtime-produced event featuring Davis will take place inside the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT.
