Vasiliy Lomachenko has responded to the trash talk from Teofimo Lopez.
Lomachenko and Lopez are set to collide in a major title unification bout. Lomachenko is the WBA (Super) and WBO Lightweight Champion. Lopez holds the IBF gold. The two will meet on October 17 on the major ESPN network.
Top Rank Boxing has released a clip of the debut episode of Blood, Sweat, and Tears. In the video, Lomachenko responds to harsh words from Lopez (h/t Michael Benson).

“In my country, if you insult somebody you’d better be prepared for them to hurt you. If we were in my country, he’d learn pretty quick he can’t run his mouth… If I get a chance to cause him pain, I’m gonna do it.”
Lomachenko is hoping to become the first man to defeat Lopez. Up to this point, Lopez has a perfect pro boxing record of 15-0. Lomachenko’s record stands at 14-1. Going into this fight, Lomachenko will be the betting favorite but many feel it isn’t indicative of Lopez’s skills, rather just how impressive “Loma” has been.
Throughout his career, Lomachenko has beaten the likes of Jorge Linares and Guillermo Rigondeaux. Adding Lopez to that list would further enhance Lomachenko’s elite status among many fans and boxing aficionados.
