Chimaev’s Wrestling Match Ends In Chaotic Brawl

Khamzat Chimaev’s first match following losing his UFC middleweight title to Sean Strickland on May 9 was a wrestling match as he made his Real American Freestyle (RAF) debut over the weekend, defeating Dillon Danis in less than a minute, however his win was overshadowed by an all out brawl that broke out immediately following the bout.

Chimaev wasted little time, securing a single-leg takedown and getting Danis on his back for the pin in 45 seconds. As the referee moved in to stop the contest — with Danis applying a last-ditch guillotine — Chimaev threw a kick at the downed Danis, and both camps immediately swarmed the mat. Multiple punch exchanges broke out across the floor before both men were escorted from the arena.
