Chris Eubank Jr.: I Truly Believe I Would Stop Gennady Golovkin

Chris Eubank Jr. thinks he has what it takes to defeat Gennady Golovkin.

Eubank is the interim WBA Middleweight Champion. He’s scheduled to return to the ring on May 1 against Marcus Morrison. Eubank is hoping that once he shakes off any potential ring rust that he’ll be ready to go against current IBF and IBO Middleweight titleholder Golovkin.

While Eubank isn’t guaranteed to get a bout with “GGG,” he’s hoping it’ll eventually come to fruition. He told Sky Sports that he thinks he can defeat Golovkin.

“I really and truly believe I would stop him. My engine and his fight style? He doesn’t back down and goes to war regardless. An immovable force against an unstoppable object. When two warriors collide who put it all on the line, it would be an amazing fight.

“I don’t believe he could out-punch or out-perform me. I’ve had that mindset for years now. I have the perfect style to stop Golovkin even though it’s never been done before.”

Golovkin last competed back in December 2020. He scored a seventh-round TKO victory over Kamil Szeremeta to successfully defend his gold. It was a record-breaking defense as “GGG” surpassed Bernard Hopkins for the most successful middleweight title defenses.
