Chris Eubank Jr’s Team To Negotiate Gennadiy Golovkin Fight For Summer
Canelo Alvarez’s loss to Dmitry Bivol has made a ripple effect.
If Alvarez had defeated Dmitry Bivol this past Saturday, he would’ve been looking at a trilogy fight against Gennadiy Golovkin. But now, Chris Eubank Jr said he’s seeking to set up a title fight against Golovkin.
Well @GGGBoxing looks like your going to need a new dance partner now that Canelo has been dethroned. I’m ready to tango baby let’s get it on this summer 🕺🏾😎

Eubank’s team will reportedly start talks with Golovkin’s team this week. His promoter, Kalle Sauerland, added that Golovkin is Eubank’s No. 1 target.
“We will be in talks with them this week to see if it’s going to be an option,” Sauerland told Sportsmail.
But Sauerland said they would have to wait until Alvarez officially announces whether or not he’ll be triggering the rematch clause. Following the fight on Saturday, Alvarez said he wanted another shot at Bivol while Bivol said he’s open to it as long as he gets a chance at becoming an undisputed light heavyweight champion.
Eubank flattened Liam Williams more than once in their bout in February. The victory moved the Brit closer to a title shot. He previously held the WBA interim middleweight title twice in 2015 and 2021 and the IBO super middleweight title twice in 2017 and 2019.
But Eubank has been envisioning a Golovkin fight since February, when he told ESPN that it’d be his dream fight.
“Golovkin at the Amex would be the dream scenario… Everyone wants to see me fight Golovkin, that is huge fight and his team have shown interest, so after this fight we will be trying to get that fight on,” he said.
Golovkin currently holds the IBF and WBA middleweight titles.
