Ciryl Gane Opens Up On His Loss To Jon Jones

Ciryl Gane fought for the undisputed title twice and suffered defeat in both of those battles.

Firstly, he shared the cage with Francis Ngannou and suffered a defeat via a unanimous decision.

After that defeat, he had his shot against one of the best fighters, Jon Jones, and suffered defeat in the very first round.

After several months, Gane has expanded on the mistakes he made against Jones.

“I don’t know exactly why, but I cannot manage my distance very well during some moments, and I made a mistake.

It wasn’t possible to manage the distance, and I did some things to break this atmosphere, and I made a mistake at this moment.

“Maybe he already knew I was going to make this mistake, and he took his opportunity.

“During the entire camp, Fernand Lopez told me every time we started training, ‘jab and no big hand.’

“Just jab. And what did I do? A big hand. Big mistake, and he took the opportunity,” Gane

Although the fight did not last long, as Gane suffered a submission loss pretty easily, the star was not impressed by Jones’ grappling skills.

And in the process, he dismissed Jones’ speed. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but Gane ultimately came up short.

And there is no getting away from that.
