Ciryl Gane’s Home Fleeced During UFC Fight Night In Paris
A Bittersweet Evening For The #2 Ranked Heavyweight
This past Saturday, in the main event of the UFC’s second trip to France in the history of the promotion, former interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane dismantled Maldova’s Serghei Spivac with excellent distance management, crisp striking, and a plethora of damaging body shots.
In what seemed like a quick night of work for France’s own two-time UFC title challenger, Gane seemed to have thought of everything, and executed his game plan flawlessly by out-striking Spivac 109-11. The massive spread in standup ability ultimately led to a second round stoppage, adding a ninth finish to Gane’s current record of 12-2. This win also served as an excellent bounce-back performance following his last outing against current heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

While Gane’s mental energy was no doubt focused strongly on the sound strategy that he executed inside the Octagon, 15 minutes away at his unoccupied home in Nogent-sur-Marne robbers found a way to gain entry. The thieves made it away with a collection of jewelry, including a Rolex, roughly totaling $162,000.
Reportedly, local police were called to Gane’s home at 7:30 a.m., where a brief investigation declared that the perpetrator(s) entered the home by forcing open the front door, at roughly the same time that Gane was busy squaring off with his 256-pound opponent.
Additionally, the police report included a mention of the possible fact that a member of Gane’s team could have provided insight to the criminals regarding the best timeline to carry out the burglary.
“It is possible that the thugs have made scouts or that a person in the athlete’s entourage has informed them about his schedule.”

Despite the unfortunate incident casting a dark cloud in front of an otherwise shining evening for the French superstar, insurance can always help with the loss of material items such as Gane’s Rolex. But, the Glory he achieved inside the cage can not be replaced.
