Shields became a rising star shortly after turning pro in 2016 when she won two Olympic boxing gold medals.
The 26-year-old has also bagged world championships in three weight divisions. She was the first fighter to hold undisputed titles in two classes.
Her boxing record (11-0-0 2 KOs) speaks volumes of her skills inside the ring.
Shields has been very vocal about women’s rights. She has never shied away from speaking for herself inside or outside her line of work.
Shields has recently diverted her career to the world of MMA, where she went on to win her debut before losing the second bout.
Forbes has recognized her accomplishments as inspiration for the younger generation, especially young girls who dream to influence others.
“All of the honorees in the Forbes Under 30 class of 2022 have defied the odds: navigating a global pandemic, supply chain crunches and isolation to build ventures that are resilient and destined to change the world,” Forbes stated.
