Claressa Shields Vs Savannah Marshall Is Set For September 10

The undisputed female middleweight world title fight between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall appears to have been set.

Dan Rafael of Big Fight Weekend reports that the grudge match will take place on Saturday, September 10 in London. According to him, an official announcement is expected to come after July 4th.

The two unbeaten fighters have been going at each other since Shields was in Cardiff back in February for her last title defense against Ema Kozin, a fight Marshall was ringside for.

Shields (12-0, 2 KO) is a three-division champion who’s never lost more than two rounds on any single scorecard.

Meanwhile, Marshall (12-0, 10 KO) has proven herself to be among the most fearsome punchers in women’s boxing, with none of her last eight opponents having survived past seven rounds.

Other than a potential rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, this is easily the biggest fight women’s boxing has to offer.

BOXXER Promoter Ben Shalom is the man trying to secure the fight. He had hoped to already have an official announcement by now, but has always maintained that a fight between Shields and Marshall would happen.
