Claressa Shields Wins The ESPY Award for ‘Best Boxer’
Claressa Shields won the ESPY Award for “Best Boxer” in what has been a remarkable period for the star.
The unbeaten 28-year-old was presented the award at a ceremony on July 12th, 2023, in Hollywood, California.
And in the process of doing so, Shields beat off some stiff competition including Devin Haney, Gervonta Davis, and Shakur Stevenson.
Shields is a double Olympic gold medalist, as well as being the undisputed middle-weight champion. And it was last year that Shields had the biggest win of her career.

She managed to beat two undefeated fighters, Ema Kozin and Savannah Marshall, on her way to becoming undisputed at middleweight.
Thereafter, Shields defended her titles by beating Maricela Cornejo on June 3rd, 2023, in her homecoming fight in Detroit.
For the last two years, Tyson Fury had managed to secure the awards following his comeback from mental health problems to becoming the WBC heavyweight champion.
But this time it was Shields’ time to shine.
