Cody Garbrandt vs. Rani Yahya Rescheduled To October

The match between Rani Yahya and Cody Garbrandt has been moved to October.

Yahya (28-10-1 MMA, 13-4-1 UFC) and Garbrandt (12-5 MMA, 7-5 UFC) will square off on October 1 at an unspecified UFC Fight Night event.

Originally scheduled to fight at UFC on ESPN 39 on July 9, Yahya was forced to withdraw due to a neck injury.

The master of Brazilian jiu-jitsu has won his last two matches in a row, submitting Ray Rodriguez in March 2021 and defeating Kyung-Ho Kang by unanimous decision in November.

Former bantamweight champion Garbrandt just suffered another knockout loss in his flyweight debut. Kai Kara France welcomed him with punches and dropped him several times.

Garbrandt has had a tough time in his career, but was once an undefeated champion, serving losses to a legend like Dominick Cruz.
