Colby Covington Eyes Adesanya For Next Bout After Fighting Kamaru Usman
Colby Covington is set to have another title shot against welterweight champion Kamaru Usmanat UFC 268 in November. But he has already revealed what his plans are after the rematch.
“I’m gonna fight in my weight class against Kamaru Usman. I’m gonna get the world title, 170, welterweight, and then I’m going to be working with you and Bang Energy to put on the muscle mass and we’re going to go up to middleweight, to 185 and we’re going to beat Israel Adesanya,” Covington said.
The former welterweight champion was speaking to Bang Energy CEO Jack Owoc in a YouTube video as both got together to train.
Despite asking for all the smoke, what makes the “Chaos” an underdog against both UFC champs is his lack of fight experience in recent times. The 33-year-old has fought only once since he lost to Usman in 2019.
He took on and defeated Tyron Woodley in September 2020.
