Colby Covington, Jorge Masvidal Get Into Street Skirmish; Masvidal Accused Of Felony Battery
UPDATE (March 22, 2022 5:14 PM ET): Jorge Masvidal is suspected of felony battery, but has not been formally charged, ESPN’s Mike Coppinger tweeted. There was a victim who lost teeth, but was not identified.
It seems Jorge Masvidal wanted another shot at Colby Covington, but this time, outside of the octagon.
TMZ Sports obtained a video showing Covington and Masvidal moments after the two allegedly fought outside of Papi Steak, a restaurant in Miami Beach.
Covington was eating dinner with the Nelk Boys on Monday night, but Masvidal was not a diner, TMZ reported. The altercation reportedly happened as Covington was leaving the restaurant and Masvidal allegedly attacked him.
After the alleged confrontation, Covington was surrounded by cops.
“He’s over here swinging, trying to come at me, and I ran,” Covington is overheard saying in the video. ” … How would he know I’m here?”
Earlier in the night, social media star Bob Menery and the Nelk Boys posted a video of Covington inside of the restaurant. He was a guest on their “Full Send Podcast” earlier that day.
Masvidal later took to Twitter and posted a video where he tagged Covington.

“You talk that s—, you gotta back it up,” Masvidal said in the video. “That’s how my city rolls, man.”
Covington and Masvidal last fought at UFC 272 on March 5 where Covington handed Masvidal a lopsided unanimous decision loss.
Going into the fight, tensions seemed to continue to rise between the two who were former friends and teammates at American Top Team.
The loss was Masvidal’s third straight loss, following two defeats to the welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, who Covington also lost twice to.
