Colby Covington Makes Prediction For Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier II
Colby Covington has a bold prediction for the main event of UFC 257.
On January 23, former UFC “champ-champ” Conor McGregor will collide with Dustin Poirier. This will be the second time McGregor and Poirier shared the Octagon. In their first encounter back in September 2014, McGregor scored the first-round TKO finish.
Appearing as a guest on Submission Radio, Covington shared his bleak outlook on Poirier’s chances in the rematch with McGregor (h/t Bloody Elbow).
“All I gotta say guys is make sure you guys got the Kleenex ready at the press conference. Cause you know Dustin Sore-ier is going to break down on the mic.
“He’s gonna cry to the world, get everyone to feel sympathy and feel bad for him. He’s going to get sparked again in the first round ’cause he’s completely washed up and has no chin anymore and no heart. It’s not going to be competitive. I think Conor’s just going to spark him in the first round.”
Covington’s prediction may not come as a surprise. “Chaos” once trained with Poirier under American Top Team. Covington’s MAGA persona soon reared its ugly head as Covington went after his own teammates. Poirier was none too pleased with Covington’s unfavorable assessment of his wrestling skills.
It appeared as if Covington and Poirier patched things up after “Chaos” apologized to “The Diamond.” Things quickly changed and Covington was back to hurling insults Poirier’s way.
Covington is no longer at ATT due to issues with teammates. The former interim UFC Welterweight Champion also said he feels free to do as he pleases with his new team.
