Colby Covington Reveals X-Ray Of His Broken Foot, Blaming It For His Loss To Leon Edwards

Colby Covington shared an X-ray of his broken foot, citing that as a reason for his loss against Leon Edwards.

Edwards successfully defended his UFC Welterweight Title with a unanimous decision win at UFC 296 in December. It was the third time Covington came up short in a world title fight. Covington’s pre-fight comments increased the pressure on him to perform. He referenced Edwards’ late father, who had been murdered, in his trash talk.

Edwards responded by throwing a water bottle. Covington could not back up his trash talk as he initially blamed inactivity for his loss. He had not fought since beating Jorge Masvidal in March 2022 at UFC 272. He then changed the narrative, saying he broke his foot after Edwards blocked his kick with his elbow. Covington justified the decision not to tell his corner, claiming the information would be televised and given to Edwards’ team.

The result wasn’t what I wanted, it wasn’t my night. I broke my foot right away and I couldn’t plant or explode off it to use the wrestling and pressure I planned to use. I didn’t want to disclose this information until I had the X-rays. I knew straight away it was bad,” Covington said

Now, he has shared an X-ray of the alleged broken foot to convince fans he was injured.
