Commey-Beltran Both Pass Second Weigh-In
Following his missing weight on Thursday, Ray Beltran would make weight in the second weigh-in, hours before his fight against Richard Commey on ESPN.
Beltran was over the 135 pound limit on Thursday, disqualifying him from earning the IBF lightweight title with a win over Commey, but would come in under the 146.5 pound limit for the second day weigh-in, avoiding the fight from either being cancelled or another fine like the $20,000 one he had to pay Commey on Thursday.
Commey, would weigh 142.5 pounds on Friday morning, nearly eight pounds heavier than the 134¼ pounds he was at Thursday’s weigh-in.
With a win on Friday, Commey is expected to take on the winner of Teofimo Lopez and Masayoshi Nakatani’s July 19th fight from the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
