Commey In-Line For April Fight Against Loma

With Richard Commey the next in line for Vasyl Lomachenko, Lomachenko’s promoter sees trouble in the IBF lightweight champion.

Lomachenko, who is set to return on April 12th in Los Angeles, may stand across from Commey, after he dropped Isa Chaniev last weekend to gain the IBF crown at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

This is one guy that’ll be very, very competitive with Lomachenko,” Arum told reporters about Commey.“He hits like a mule, he’s a big guy. And Loma craves this kind of challenge, because it is a challenging kind of fight. You know, the guy can really hurt you. He’s a big guy and a big puncher. Loma would have his hands full. But that’s what he wants.”

The only issues that would stop Commey and Lomachenko fighting are an injury to Commey’s hand, and a mandatory challenge against Anthony Crolla, which is set for a purse bid on Wednesday at WBA headquarters in Panama.
