Confident Ruiz Willing To Give Wilder Trilogy Fight

While the WBC world heavyweight championship is not around the waist of Luis Ortiz, the man challenging Deontay Wilder for the title this Saturday is willing to give the current champion a rematch.

“It’s going to be very excited to win the championship, and become the first Cuban to be a champion,” said Ortiz ahead of their Fox Sports PPV from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. “100 percent, he gave me the fight. It’s not even spoken of.”

“I would agree, but he still lacks the experience in taking it from a training facility into a fight where someone is trying to take your head off where it’s not as quite as simple as in a controlled gym environment,” Ortiz said of Wilder, who struggled early against the Cuban southpaw until a 10th round knockout by Wilder. “He’s got to have a Plan-B and C, and if he doesn’t, then that’s going to be an error. I’ve got a Plan-A through Z.”
