Conor McGregor Donates $11K To Bellator Fighter Paralyzed After MMA Training

Conor McGregor has donated to Ian Coughlin’s GoFundMe in an effort to help the fighter walk again.

McGregor donated 10,000 euros ($11,339) to Coughlan, who was almost instantly paralyzed after accidentally falling directly on his head during MMA practice. Coughlan has reportedly been told by doctors that he may never walk again.

“Guys let’s get together and support this young Irish fighter who suffered a terrible injury at a gym in Ireland. Coach John and the team at SBG are hosting a training day and my own recovery permitting, I hope to be in attendance. There will be signed fight wear also!” McGregor tweeted.

Coughlan’s fundraiser is set to €73,000 to pay for treatment in Germany for “the chance to walk again.”

Coughlan (1-1) last fought in 2019 when he suffered a unanimous decision loss at Bellator 227 against Constantin Gnusariov. Before that, he won against Maciek Gierszewski via armbar at Clan Wars 32.

Before going pro, Coughlan was 5-1.

Meanwhile, UFC President Dana White said he believes McGregor will return to the octagon in late summer or early fall.
