Conor McGregor Feels There is Unfinished Business With Dustin Poirier

Could we possibly be looking at a fourth fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier in the future?

Earlier this week, the former double-champ took to twitter and replied to a fan’s question by expressing that he is interested in another fight with his longtime rival Poirier.

McGregor has been out of the Octagon since his trilogy match with Poirier in which he broke his ankle, but is now expected to return sometime next year for a fight with Michael Chandler. Meanwhile, Poirier is coming off a devastating knockout loss to Justin Gaethje back in July at UFC 291. ‘The Diamond’ has since called for a trilogy match with Gaethje and is hoping it could take place at UFC 300.

McGregor first met Poirier back in 2014 at UFC 178. McGregor made quick work of his opponent, stopping him in the first round with punches. The pair’s next meeting would come in January 2021, when Poirier settled the score by achieving a second round knockout victory. The infamous trilogy bout occurred in July later that year, but McGregor suffering a broken ankle in the first round was not the conclusion that anyone was hoping for.

With the anticlimactic nature in which their trilogy bout finished, there seems to still be desire for an additional match between these two top level competitors
