Conor McGregor has the utmost respect for undisputed boxing champion Claressa Shields.
With a record of 11-0, Shields already has her place in boxing history. She is the current undisputed female light-middleweight champion and was once the undisputed queen at middleweight.
Shields is looking to be challenged, so she’s decided to make her MMA debut. She will do so against Brittney Elkin on June 10 under the PFL banner.
Shields took to her Twitter account to make it clear that she isn’t intimidated stepping into unfamiliar territory.
MMA and boxing is different yes! But it’s all fighting! It involves strength, IQ, Heart, discipline, diet, lifestyle! All that ish! It is not impossible for me to be great at MMA, I have all that it takes! And I’m not SCARED OR INTIMIDATED BY NONE OF YOU MMA BISHES!!!

McGregor caught wind of the tweet and offered the following positive response.
Respect this multi weight boxing world champion! Competing in her first MMA fight next month. A rare occurrence that is to be lauded with praise!
Real courage a lot of her male counterparts do not possess.
Good luck Clarissa!
Another multi weight, multi sport savage! Welcome 😎 https://t.co/eIQuIPV7yr— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) May 7, 2021

Thanks Conor! (Whispers and it’s CLARESSA, not Clarissa 😂✍🏾) I’m taking it every bit of serious! I’m ready to prove a point just like you did! https://t.co/NRcGjshO7d
