Conor McGregor Lets The World Know “The Mac Is Back” At UFC 329 Presser
Participating in fight week events for the first time since 2021, Conor McGregor still seemed to feel right at home while jawing back and forth with Max Holloway and entertaining the crowd at the UFC 329 press conference on Thursday.
McGregor most recently stepped into the UFC octagon back in 2021 for his trilogy match with Dustin Poirier, which resulted in a TKO loss caused by the Irishman breaking his leg. He had his return match scheduled for 2024 against Michael Chandler, following the pair coaching opposite one another on season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter, but unfortunately the match did not come to fruition because of another injury.
Now, ‘The Notorious’ will make his long-awaited return this Saturday (July 11th) at UFC 329, where he will square off with Holloway to add to the excitement of International Fight Week 2026 in Las Vegas.

McGregor showed up wielding two custom commemorative championship belts that were created to celebrate his UFC 329 return, and also represented the fact that he was the first ever fighter to become a two-division UFC champion. McGregor simultaneously held both the lightweight and featherweight titles back in 2016.
Now, with his return at welterweight on the horizon, he feels making a run at the 170-pound belt is quite fitting.

In an interesting reveal of potential plans, McGregor was asked if he would consider a return to the boxing ring under Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing promotion. The Irishman answered quickly with a simple ‘yes’, and White acted as if there were already plans coming together for something.
McGregor’s last professional boxing match occurred when Floyd Mayweather Jr. famously stopped him in their meeting back in 2017, dubbed ‘The Money Fight’, which wound up generating 4.3 million pay-per-view buys in North America, making it the second highest selling combat sports PPV of all time.
When McGregor and Holloway came together to face off for the cameras, the Irishman was nothing short of aggressive, and his opponent matched the energy. With two quick motions, McGregor took Holloway’s sunglasses off his face, discarding them to the side, and then slapped the Hawaiian’s hand out of the way, before being separated by officials and giving the fans a taste of what they could be in for on Saturday night.
