Conor McGregor Predicts Quick Finish Over Dustin Poirier At UFC 257
Conor McGregor has called his shot for the rematch with Dustin Poirier.
On January 23, McGregor will return to the Octagon. He’ll go one-on-one with Poirier in a rematch from their September 2014 battle. McGregor won that bout via first-round TKO. The rematch is set to headline UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi.
A preview of the UFC Countdown show highlighted a bold prediction from McGregor.

“I like Dustin. I think he’s a good fighter. He’s even a great fighter. But great is still levels below me. I’ll knock Dustin out inside 60 seconds.”
McGregor’s last UFC appearance took place back in January 2020. He defeated Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in just 40 seconds via TKO. McGregor later claimed to be retired due to the lightweight title picture being stalled as well as some disagreements with the UFC in terms of his next fight.
The “Notorious” one ultimately decided to return and is happy with the Poirier matchup. “The Diamond” theorized that McGregor wanted to fight him to prepare for a southpaw in boxing legend Manny Pacquiao. McGregor has been eyeing a boxing showdown with Pacquiao for years.
