Conor McGregor Responds To Lawsuit Ahead Of UFC 257
Conor McGregor has given a brief response to a recent lawsuit filed against him.
Earlier this week, The Independent reported that McGregor is being sued by a woman in Ireland alleging personal injury. The woman’s mother is also suing for a smaller claim. The report noted that the lawsuit was filed on January 18 in the High Court in Dublin.
McGregor was asked about the situation during the UFC 257 pre-fight press conference. Here is the “Notorious” one’s response (h/t MMAJunkie.com).
“It’s old news. It was investigated thoroughly over the course of two long years, and I was cleared of any wrongdoing. And that’s it.”
McGregor went on to say that from here on, he’s putting a greater emphasis on the positive things in his life.
“There’s so much positivity in my life. I’ve got a great challenge ahead of me on Saturday night, and I’m very excited to get in. I’ve put in an immense amount of work to get my frame correct at 155 (pounds), to get my conditioning (right). I want to answer questions here, and I hope Dustin can bring it to me and we can have a good fight.”
McGregor is set to collide with Dustin Poirier in a rematch on Saturday, January 23. The lightweight clash will take place inside Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. This will be McGregor’s first bout since January 2020 when he stopped Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in 40 seconds via TKO.
