Conor McGregor Says He’ll Be Prepared For Dustin Poirier’s Tactics In Trilogy

Conor McGregor believes he’ll be ready for the trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier.

McGregor and Poirier are 1-1 against each other. The “Notorious” one defeated Poirier in their first encounter back in September 2014 via first-round TKO. Poirier got his revenge in January when he stopped McGregor in the second round via TKO.

The third encounter between McGregor and Poirier is set for July 10. Taking to his Twitter account, McGregor detailed what he plans to do in order to better prepare for the third bout with “The Diamond.”

“Double skills work. I also didn’t take rest days unless I absolutely had to. Not one. Not even a Sunday.
I will take this approach again for my comeback fight. I didn’t become UFC champ-champ with this method but I did become UFC 145 champion. Also the cage warrior champ-champ.”

Poirier responded by saying he won’t exactly be resting on his laurels.

I never slack, I’ll meet you in the middle of the Octagon July 10th.”

McGregor then said he will be ready for Poirier’s leg kicks this go-around.

“Good to hear Dustin, I hope so. As last time you backed up and shot inside the first 30 seconds. I’ll be in the middle from the very go if you want it. You know that. I’ll be ready for the tactics this time too tho. See you in there.”
