Conor McGregor teases major announcement ahead of Michael Chandler fight: “You’re in for a treat”

Former UFC two-weight champion Conor McGregor is gearing up for his return to the UFC Octagon against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June. As “The Notorious” inches closer to his return after a near three-year layoff due to a broken leg injury, he recently teased an upcoming announcement that could remind fans of his atop the sport.

Speaking to Oscar Willis of The Mac Life, McGregor teased there will be a major announcement ahead of his fight against Chandler. The announcement, McGregor said, is expected to get the fans excited and the Irish superstar shares that same excitement.

“The fans will love it, the people will love it, you’re in for a treat. Dana [White] loved [the idea] pitched it to me, I double loved it. And here we go, we’re about to announce it soon for the fans.”

The wide speculation from the internet and fans is that there will be a world tour press conference and while nothing has been confirmed, McGregor added fuel to those speculations.

“We have a huge announcement coming regarding traveling the globe. An event that will take place prior to June 29th between myself and my opponent. You guys are gonna love it, and I’m gonna love it also.”

Throughout his career Conor McGregor has been known for his trash talk and quick witty comments during press conferences. If the UFC is bringing back another tour, it could serve as a reminder of how the former two-weight champion was able to capture a worldwide audience and following heading into his fights.
