Conor McGregor Wanted By Police For Questioning

Irish police are seeking to interview former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor (22-7) as part of a perjury investigation connected to his unsuccessful civil appeal last year in his sexual assault case.

Detectives from the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation reportedly want to question McGregor following the seizure of a mobile phone belonging to one of his associates. Attempts to arrange an interview date back to September 2025, with further contact made in June.

McGregor’s attorney, Ciaran Mulholland, said the 38-year-old is in California receiving medical care and remains willing to assist investigators as a witness, either remotely or in person when he’s medically cleared to travel.

The inquiry concerns affidavits filed in connection with McGregor’s appeal against a November 2024 civil jury finding that he was liable for sexual assault stemming from an incident in December 2018. McGregor withdrew his application to introduce evidence just before the appeal hearing, and the appeal was later dismissed in its entirety.

Two people who has provided sown affidavits, have been charged with knowingly making false statements in judicial proceedings. No pleas have been entered and both are due back before Dublin District Court on November 9.

McGregor has not been charged in connection with the perjury investigation.
