Conor McGregor has requested that Eddie Hearn arrange a fight between him and boxing legend Carl Froch in the realm of mixed martial arts.
Upon hearing Froch express his willingness to participate in a unique crossover fight with McGregor during his podcast, Froch on Fighting show, the latter utilized social media to call upon Hearn to make the fight a reality.
‘I’d fight Conor McGregor in the cage.’
As promised, I’ve got @StGeorgeGroves on this week’s Froch on Fighting

In his comments, Froch said: “If I’m fighting Conor McGregor in the cage, I’d train harder, because I’d fight Conor McGregor in the cage.
“I could be getting myself in trouble here or into a position I can’t wiggle out of, but I think I’d take him on in the cage. Is that ridiculous? Is that wrong?”
In response, the Irishmen did not hesitate. While the bout would no doubt generate a lot of interest, the fact of the matter is that this is unlikely to happen for the following.
😂 @EddieHearn, get this signed up lad. https://t.co/j8g4csi1tb

First, McGregor is under contract with the UFC, making it clear that Dana White would have to authorize such a thing. This was seen with McGregor’s crossover boxing fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Secondly, given that McGregor is on course for his comeback, which will most likely be against Michael Chandler, another non-UFC fight is the last thing he needs if he still has the desire to become a third-weight world champion.
His loss against Dustin Poirier, which saw Conor suffer from a broken leg, has left many unanswered questions over McGregor’s durability moving forward, which will no doubt need to be answered.
