Conor Tweets At Official Then Deletes

Following running into the cage at Bellator 187, Conor McGregor released a brief statement on Monday morning, before deleting it.

At Bellator 187 in Dublin, Ireland this past Friday, McGregor’s SBG Ireland teammate Charlie Ward appeared to knock out fellow middleweight John Redmond with just one second left in the opening frame. Chaos then ensued as a jubilant McGregor ran into the cage and dove on Ward in celebration.

Moments later, referee Marc Goddard attempted to remove McGregor from the cage as the bout had not yet been formally ruled a knockout. McGregor then slapped a Bellator MMA official who tried to escort him from the cage before running up to Goddard and shoving him, while yelling at the British official.
McGregor wrote via Twitter on Monday morning, The Irishman then deleted the post shortly afterward.

“Bloke KO’d on floor bout a minute straight and ref trying to say fights not over Conor. That’s when I lost it. F— yous all,”

The incident came just three weeks after another bit of drama concerning McGregor and Goddard, as the latter was the third man in the cage at UFC Fight Night 118 in Gdansk, Poland on Oct. 21, and was forced to reprimand McGregor from loudly cornering teammate Artem Lobov from cageside during his bout with Andre Fili, despite not in Lobov’s corner as an official second.

Similarly, McGregor was not a licensed cornerman at this past Saturday’s Bellator 187 card either, making it questionable if and how he will face regulatory discipline. The Mohegan Tribe Department of Regulation oversaw Bellator 187 as a third-party regulator in Dublin, but the MTDR has remained adamant that it lacks jurisdiction to fine or suspend McGregor for his actions.
