Contract Is Received For Gervonta Davis-Ryan Garcia: ‘April 15, Let’s Go!’

They announced the agreement in November.

The contract for the Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia showdown has been received.

On Tuesday, Garcia’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, posted a photo with the contract in his hand, standing alongside Garcia.

“Devil is in the details,” De La Hoya stated in the caption of his Instagram picture. “April 15 lets go!”

The news comes less than three days after De La Hoya gave Davis and his team a deadline for the contract. The promoter said that if it wasn’t received by Monday, that Garcia would look to take on a different fight.

Davis’ representatives confirmed that they were already finalizing the terms for their targeted springtime bout, Boxing Scene reported.

Despite De La Hoya, Davis and Garcia’s statements on social media, a date and location have yet to be confirmed by Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) — who represents Davis – nor Showtime, who will broadcast the pay-per-view.

Davis and Garcia publicly announced their plans to fight back in November.

But Davis needed to get past Hector Luis Garcia on January 7; he was victorious and won by a ninth-round stoppage. Garcia opted out of taking an interim fight.

Though things are looking positive for the bout to take place, Davis is still facing an active domestic violence charge from December in Florida, where he was training for the Luis Garcia fight. He is also still due to stand trial on February 16 for alleged misdemeanor motor vehicle violations.
