Corey Anderson’s Opponent For Bellator Debut Revealed
Corey Anderson has an opponent lined up for his Bellator debut.
Anderson made the jump from the UFC to Bellator following his knockout loss to Jan Blachowicz. Anderson said his decision came down to a calculated risk. He claims Bellator’s contract is more lucrative and the option to choose his own sponsors helped make his decision a “no-brainer.”
We now know who will welcome Anderson to the Bellator cage. A press release from the organization reveals that Anderson will collide with Melvin Manhoef on November 5. This will serve as the main event of Bellator 251. It’ll air live on the CBS Sports Network.
Here is part of Bellator’s press release announcing Anderson vs. Manhoef.
“Bellator MMA is back in primetime on Thursday, Nov. 5 with a card headlined by an exciting battle featuring one of the promotion’s newest free agent acquisitions in Corey Anderson (13-5), who will make his highly anticipated Bellator debut against Dutch combat sports legend Melvin Manhoef (32-14-1, 2 NC) in the stacked light heavyweight division. The action emanates from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., where Bellator has held all its domestic shows since the promotion’s return to live events.”
No other matchups have been announced for the Bellator 251 card at this time.
