Cormier Will Defend Light Heavy Title This Year

Daniel Cormier will return to the Octagon in 2018, and it’ll be for his UFC light heavyweight title.

“When and where, Corey Anderson,” Cormier told his FOX broadcast partner Michael Bisping on the video. “When and where, (Ilir) Latifi. When and where, Anthony Smith. When and where, all of them. All of them at some point this year.”

Following Cormier’s defeat of Stipe Miocic at UFC 226, he’d call our Brock Lesnar, who Dana White confirmed would be his next opponent for the heavyweight title.

The fight won’t be able to happen until 2019, as Lesnar has six months remaining on his suspension for a failed test at UFC 200, which means Cormier will be able to fight one more time in 2018

“Yes, I am,” said Cormier of fighting this year.  “As long as they don’t f*ck up my Lesnar fight.”
