Cory Sandhagen Vs. Song Yadong In The Works For UFC Fight Night Headliner

Two rising bantamweight contenders are in the works to meet in the octagon.

Cory Sandhagen is reportedly targeted to fight Song Yadong on September 17 in the main event of a UFC Fight Night event.

Sandhagen, former title challenger, will try to protect his spot against rising stars from China, Yadong.
Yadong is on a three-fight winning streak in the UFC.

He is only 24 years old and has already earned 19 professional victories in MMA. He signed in the UFC when he was 19 years old and made his UFC debut on short notice, but still earned a great victory against Bharat Khandare.

He earned eight victories in the UFC and defeated fighters like Marlon Vera, Marlon Moraes and Casey Kenney.
Sandhagen is one of the best strikers in this division.

He fought with Petr Yan for the interim title and lost unanimously. However, he also held a great fight with TJ Dillashaw – even though he suffered a split decision loss, he still damaged the former titleholder.

Sandhagen lost three fights out of his last five bouts. But his losses were handed by Aljamain Sterling (current division champion), Yan (former interim and undisputed champion) and Dillashaw (former champion).
Sandhagen did manage to defeat Frankie Edgar and Marlon Moraes both via knockout.
