Covington Calls Out “Brittle” Woodley

While Colby Covington would defend his need to undergo nasal surgery instead of fighting Tyron Woodley at UFC 228, the former interim welterweight champion would take little to no time bashing his rival for undergoing thumb surgery.

The two were rumored to showdown at UFC 230 at Madison Square Garden for Woodley’s UFC welterweight title, but Woodley dislocated his thumb during his UFC 228 win over Darren Till, and will be shelved for 8-12 weeks.

Covington would take to Twitter and call Woodley a “brittle b***h” and would assert his claim to the title by telling Woodley that he should be stripped of his “number one contender” position.

Covington won the interim title at UFC 225 in a win over Rafael dos Anjos, and would then undergo a procedure, essentially pulling out of a UFC 228 fight.

Now, with Woodley out until December the earliest, it seems fairly unlikely that these two will face off until early 2019.
