Covington Calls Out Conor For Drug Abuse
Conor McGregor’s preparing for his long-awaited return to the Octagon on October 6th, when he faces Khabib Nurmagomedov for the UFC lightweight title at UFC 229.
McGregor has insulated himself from the media leading up to fight night, with his lone scheduled public appearance being in New York on September 19th at Radio City Music Hall. While the stated reason is due to McGregor undergoing intense training for this fight, former interim welterweight champion believes its for a different reason.
“He’s doing his little cocaine, and he’s partying a lot with his hookers,” Covington told BJPenn.com Radio.
“He’s getting a little soft. He’s a little, he’s a coked-up little leprechaun who’s getting a little soft, so I completely understand why he doesn’t want to do promotion.”
Covington is known for his outlandish statements and attempts to be a “provocateur” on a level of a McGregor or Roger Stone, especially in incidents involving Fabricio Werdum in 2017, and constantly bashing his college roommate Jon Jones over issues going back to their college days.
