Terence Crawford has been awarded the 2023 Ring Magazine Performance of the Year award.’
Crawford had his best career win, beating Errol Spence. Jr. to become the first undisputed welterweight champ of the four-belt era. He also became undisputed in a second weight class. The one-sided win made Crawford the best pound-for-pound fighter. He was pushed close by Naoya Inoue. The Japanese also became a two-weight undisputed champion when he secured a knockout win over Marlon Tapales to win all the belts at super bantamweight. But given that Crawford has arguably a better resume, he picked up the award.
Terence Crawford has been announced as the winner of the 2023 Ring Magazine Performance of the Year award after stopping Errol Spence and his coach Brian 'BoMac' McIntyre has been announced as the winner of the 2023 Ring Magazine Trainer of the Year award.

Crawford’s trainer, Brian McIntyre, was also given an award. He was the mastermind behind the game plan that made Spence look ordinary. Crawford negated Spence’s strength and the ability to break down fighters by taking his jab away. Bomac predicted the win would come, which he also did for Chris Eubank Jr’s rematch with Liam Smith. Bomac took Eubank under his wing after the boxer left Roy Jones Jr. and helped him stop Smith in the rematch. The win was huge, given there were talks that Eubank could retire if he lost the rematch. It was only fitting that Bomac was awarded.
Deservedly so. 💯
