Crawford Blasts, TKOs Molina Jr.
WBO, WBC, The Ring, and lineal heavyweight champion Terence Crawford was practically unstoppable on Saturday night, defeating John Molina Jr. via eighth-round TKO.
It was already not a good weekend for Molina, as he missed weight and had to give up a portion of his purse and his right to win the titles. To make matters worse for him, the fight was not even close, as Crawford came out firing from the first minute of the bout. Meanwhile, Molina ignored his corner’s advice to cut the ring off, and he instead charged at the champion.
Crawford had a lot fueling him in this bout — he was fighting in his hometown, he has stated he is looking to become Fighter of the Year, Molina missed weight and he didn’t want to be shown up by a knockout that happened at the end of the undercard.
In the eighth, Crawford came out even wilder. He caught Molina in the corner and laid a barrage of shots down on him, prompting the referee to call a stop to the bout in the middle of the eighth.
