Crawford Likely for Dec. 10 Fight
Now that the highly-anticipated middleweight title fight between Gennady Golovkin and Danny Jacobs has been pushed back to 2017, junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford may fill in on the Dec. 10 slot.
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is looking for an opponent for Crawford, per a report by ESPN’s Dan Rafael.
The fight would be broadcasted on HBO, and Arum wants to have it hosted in Crawford’s hometown of Omaha, Nebraska.
Crawford (29-0) last competed in July, defeating Viktor Postol by unanimous decision to retain his WBO title and capture Postol’s WBC belt. The 29-year-old Crawford is ranked as the #5 pound-for-pound fighter in the world by The Ring magazine.
If a fight is made for Crawford in December, it will be the third time he has competed in 2016.
