Terence Crawford (42-0) shed light on why a fight with WBC Junior Middleweight Champion Sebastian Fundora never materialized after saying he wanted to fight him before facing Canelo Alvarez.
Crawford, who walked away from the sport in December 2025 after his victory over Canelo to make him undisputed at super middleweight last September, revealed he was once dismissed by the Fundora camp as lacking the “star power.” Following his victory over Israil Madrimov in August 2024—which earned him the WBA Junior Middleweight title—Crawford was the mandatory challenger for Fundora’s WBO strap. However, the fight never happened.
