The Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford rematch has been confirmed but the latter will decide the weight class.
In the aftermath of Spence’s defeat, the ‘Truth’ indicated his desire to face Crawford at 154. Bud was not opposed to the idea since he had ambitions of moving up.

“Yeah, in my mind, it’s my last fight at 147 lbs. Hopefully the next one will be at 154,” Spence
“It definitely doesn’t have to be at 147. I’m in the hurt business. 147 was kinda hard for me, too. I was already talking about moving up in weight and challenging (Jermell) Charlo, so 154 wouldn’t be out of reach,” Crawford
And a fight at junior middleweight would tick all the boxes. If Crawford has ambitions of fighting Jermell Charlo at 154, then he would have to test himself at the weight class before jumping in against the current undisputed champion.
Meanwhile, even a fight with Canelo Alvarez at 168 would have to done thoroughly. As such, a move up to 154 first followed by the jump to 168 would make sense.
And yet, since Crawford is in charge of the weight, he does hold all the cards. The undisputed welterweight champion could simply freeze Spence out by making the fight at 147 again. So either way, Spence is up against the odds.
