Creed Star Jordan Calls Out Roy Jones, Jones Accepts
On the eve of Creed II opening in theaters, Michael B. Jordan, who plays the titular character has called out former world champion Roy Jones Jr.
Jordan was leaving the Avenue nightclub over the weekend and told TMZ that he’d be up for a fight with the 49-year old Jones, who last fought in July, taking a unanimous decision over Scott Sigmon.
“Roy Jones, that’s my dude, bro … I feel like I could do my thing a little bit. I could hold my thing, right now, but in his prime, nah,” Jordan said.
“First thing is, you know, I’ve never ducked a fight in my life,” Jones Jr. said in response to the gossip site.
“If Michael B. wants this for real, contact Roy Jones Jr. and we’ll make it happen.”
Even though he admits Jordan is “probably in better condition,” Jones believes his experience is the factor.
“I know he can’t beat me still,” Jones said.
Jones, a current HBO boxing analyst said Jordan may need to wait “four or five weeks” for the fight to materialize but wants to take Jordan into “deep water.”
“No, no, no, I’m not letting you off that easy, I’m going to need five, six rounds at you,” he said.
