Cris Cyborg has put behind any ill will that she had for Dana White by confirming that she has patched things up with the UFC CEO.
Cyborg and White have not had the best of relationships. Prior to her time with Bellator, Cyborg was a part of the UFC. However, during this period, she did not always see eye-to-eye with White. In the run-up to UFC 240, White confirmed that he was keen on making a rematch between Cyborg and Amanda Nunes after Cris’ loss despite her alleged reluctance.
However, that did not materialize as Cyborg faced Felicia Spencer at UFC 240 in what was her last fight with the promotion. In response, Cyborg denied White’s claims over her reluctance and also shared a video of her interaction with him backstage. But the video was alleged to have been edited to make it look as though White had said certain things as the relationship between the pair soured. Although Cyborg did apologize, they parted ways. But now that the dust has settled somewhat, Cyborg had no hard feelings over what had happened.
“I asked Dana if it was okay to watch my friend [at the UFC Apex], ‘I wish you are doing well’, and he said ‘It’s okay Cris, no problem. I already forgave him, everything that happened. I’m older and I don’t hold grudges…different ways in life, but I wish him the best, that’s for sure,” Cyborg
As of now, Cyborg is getting ready to defend her 145-pound belt against Cat Zingano, which will take place at Bellator 300 on October 8th, 2023. However, she has not fought since her win over Arlene Blencowe in April 2022, which is why the focus must be on the fight game and rightly not on White.
