Cris Cyborg Points Out Amanda Nunes’ Losses

Cyborg is Bellator's featherweight champion while Nunes is UFC's bantamweight champion.

Bellator Women’s Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg has once again tried to raise questions over the integrity of her compatriot, Amanda Nunes as the greatest female mixed martial artist.

The pair were placed against each other at UFC 232 in order to settle this beef once and for all. It was Nunes who splashed Cyborg within 51 seconds of the very first round to become the first female UFC double-champion.

It was just the second loss of Cyborg’s professional career and her first since her professional debut in 2005. Cyborg admitted that Nunes was better than her that day. ButCyborg believes her résumé is levels above Nunes.

“… Amanda has more losses than me,” Cyborg said in a recent interview with Henry Cejudo.

“She didn’t stay 14 years undefeated. I lost the fight, yeah, but it happens. Sometimes it happens. But the history, how long, it’s not just about one fight.”

After bowing out from UFC in a tumultuous fashion, Cyborg quickly found his feet in Bellator and won the Bellator title over Julia Budd at Bellator 238.

Since then, she has defended her four times and isn’t giving up on that title anytime soon.

Cyborg also got the endorsement of her possible rival, Kayla Harrison who tabbed Cyborg as the greatest women’s featherweight over her former teammate Nunes.

Nunes did manage to get her title back from Julianna Pena after suffering an upset loss against the same opponent at UFC 269.

Following that victory, many fans re-affirmed her title as one of the greatest, but Cyborg feels intimidated by this fact and wants the fans to look in the broader sense.
