Cris Cyborg Still Wants To Fight Cat Zingano

She last fought in a boxing ring earlier this month.

Cris Cyborg has hinted at her next title defense.

Cyborg last defended against Arlene Blencowe at Bellator 279, who she defeated in April. Despite having a point taken away for an unsportsmanlike knee in the opening round, Cyborg prevailed by unanimous decision.

In a recent interview with MiddleEasy, Cyborg talked about Cat Zingano, who she believes will be her next opponent.

“I believe our next fight’s going to be summer,” Cris Cyborg revealed. “She’s [Zingano] the next one in line for the title, and we were supposed to fight before but you know I always think it’s a perfect time, you know. I’m ready, and I believe it’s gonna be summer.”

Pam Sorenson was Cat Zingano’s last victim at Bellator 282, bringing her winning streak to three. Sorenson, the former UFC Bantamweight Championship contender, and Cyborg have never met before.

Cyborg reportedly fought out here Bellator contract and has been trying her hands in boxing since then.

Cyborg, the Bellator Women’s Featherweight Champion, earned her second victory in a professional boxing match earlier this month when she defeated Gabrielle Holloway by unanimous decision on the undercard of Terence Crawford vs. David Avanesyan.

In the same interview, Cyborg discussed additional potential fights in 2023, including a boxing bout with Undisputed Women’s Lightweight Champion Katie Taylor and an MMA bout with former PFL Women’s Lightweight Champion Kayla Harrison.
