Ranked No. 3 and No. 4 respectively in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, Blaydes and Pavlovich are both coming into the fight with impressive records. Blaydes has won three straight fights and has a record of 7-1 in his last eight fights. He defeated Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Chris Daukaus in quick succession before taking down Tom Aspinall in his most recent victory.
On the other hand, Pavlovich has only lost once, with the lone defeat occuring in his opening UFC bout against Alistair Overeem. Since then, Pavlovich has won five straight fights by way of knockout, including back-to-back victories over Derrick Lewis and Tai Tuivasa.
The winner of this epic showdown will be in a prime position to challenge for the heavyweight championship in the future, with Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane set to battle it out for the title at UFC 285.
