Curtis Millender Vs. Sabah Homasi Reportedly Set For Bellator 243
Two rising welterweights are looking to move up in the division as Bellator continues to make its return to the spotlight.
According to MMA Fighting, Curtis Millender will be taking on Sabah Homasi at Bellator 243 on August 7. The event will be taking place inside the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT and will air on Paramount Network and DAZN.
Millender (18-5) is a former Fight Club OC and Lights Out Welterweight Champion. The 32-year-old made his pro debut in 2013 and had two stints with Bellator before returning, going 2-2 with the promotion. He competed in LFA before going 3-2 with the UFC. Released by the UFC, Millender signed a new contract with Bellator. He won his last bout in January, fighting Moses Murrietta to a unanimous decision win.
Homasi (13-8) is in his fourth stint with Bellator. Between 2010 and 2014 the 31-year-old was 1-2. Competing with Titan, Homasi went 0-3 with the UFC before being released by the promotion. He returned to Bellator in August 2019, beating Micah Terrill via KO at Bellator 225.
On a two-fight win streak, Homasi was supposed to face Paul Daley in October but pulled out due to an injury. A March bout against Daley was set before Bellator 241 was postponed due to COVID-19.
Bellator 243 will be main evented by Benson Henderson v. Michael Chandler in a rematch. The co-main event will be Matt Mitrione v. Timothy Johnson.
