Cyborg Eyes New Contract And UFC 237 Return

While Cris Cyborg has openly contemplated a move to boxing at the end of her current UFC deal, her agent Audi Attar says the former featherweight champion wants to stay inside the Octagon.

“The hopes are we can get a new deal done with the UFC, but time will tell on whether that is achievable or not,” Attar told ESPN’s Ariel Helwani on his podcast. “We haven’t received any official fight offer but she would love to fight in her hometown. We’ve had some soft discussions about her next fight and her future. She’d love to fight for the UFC.

Cyborg’s hometown is Curitiba, Brazil,  home of  UFC 237 this May.

“Cris Cyborg is one of the biggest draws in MMA. And that is fact. Even in that last fight, she went in there and didn’t fight her fight and got caught, but it was still exciting to watch.”

Cyborg last appeared for the UFC at UFC 232 in December, where she would lose her featherweight title to UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes with a first round knockout.
