Cyborg: Rousey Fight Only Works In WWE

On Monday’s edition of the MMA Hour, Ronda Rousey’s coach Edmond Tarverdyan claimed that not only would he want to see his charge take on Cris Cyborg in the UFC, but that it would be an easy fight for Rousey following two losses in as many years to Holm and Amanda Nunes.

Cyborg currently training for a fight with Holly Holm at UFC 219 on December 30, responded to Taverdyan’s comments while speaking to MMA Fighting, stating.

“If Ronda wants to come back for a fight, I believe it’s better for her to fight Miesha Tate… I’m in another stage of my career. I wanted to fight Ronda when she was psychologically well and confident.”

Cyborg did say that she would fight Rousey, but under one condition.

“Now, if she wants to make a good fight for the fans, we can make it at WWE. It would fit perfectly to go to Hollywood, and for me would be another challenge in my career.. And something brilliant, her coach would fit perfectly in her corner in WWE, he’s nothing but a joke.”

With rumors flying about Rousey potentially signing with the WWE, and allegedly training at a wrestling school in southern California, it does seem her future plans may be set inside the wrestling ring, but it seems more than likely that Cyborg will not follow.
