Dan Hardy Is ’50/50′ On Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Justin Gaethje
UFC color commentator Dan Hardy is unsure who will emerge victorious in the main event of UFC 254.
On Saturday, October 24, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje will collide in a title unification bout. Barring a draw or a No Contest, there will be an undisputed UFC Lightweight Champion crowned. Nurmagomedov has the 155-pound gold, while Gaethje is the interim titleholder.
Both fighters tipped the scales for the weigh-ins. Nurmagomedov and Gaethje weighed in at 155 pounds.
Giving his assessment of the fight on BT Sport, Hardy said that he’s doesn’t know just how tough Khabib’s weight cut was which has caused him to think this bout is a tossup (h/t MMAMania.com).
"If we hear the hooter for the fourth round it's all Gaethje for me!"

“I’m a little more 50/50 after seeing Khabib stepping on the scale. Because I still don’t know the situation with him being so close to the weight and needing the towel. The fact that he was the first one on the scale was still a big statement.”
Hardy went on to say that he feels the later the fight goes, the more it’ll be in favor of Gaethje.
“If we get into the fourth round it starts to swing toward Gaethje,” Hardy said. “Those first two rounds are going to be very difficult for him to win against Khabib. There’s no doubt about it. And the question is, how does his conditioning hold up after 10 minutes of wrestling. Does he get into the third round with punching power or does he start to look slow and a little bit broken in his conditioning.”
Up to this point, Nurmagomedov is a perfect 28-0. He’s beaten the likes of Conor McGregor, Justin Gaethje, and Rafael dos Anjos.
As for Gaethje, he’s riding a four-fight winning streak. In that span, “The Highlight” has beaten Tony Ferguson, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, Edson Barboza, and James Vick. All of those fights ended in a knockout or TKO.
