Dan Hardy Responds To Reports Claiming He’s Been Fired By UFC

Dan Hardy is no longer with the UFC and “The Outlaw” is miffed over the reported details.

Hardy had been working as a color commentator and analyst for the UFC. He earned the role after he had to put his fighting career on the back burner due to Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome. It’s been said that he can be medically cleared to compete if he undergoes surgery but he hasn’t done so.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Hardy was fired by the UFC and BT Sport over an argument with a female employee. While Hardy has confirmed he and the UFC have parted ways, he denies that the argument with a female had anything to do with his departure.

Here’s what Hardy had to say on his Twitter account.

“I am no longer working directly with the UFC. The ‘female’ part is irrelevant. It was a disagreement over an opportunity missed, or withheld, and I’d love some answers but can’t get any.”

While Hardy hasn’t been known to cause the UFC issues, he was confronted by promotional officials over shouting at referee Herb Dean back in July 2020. Hardy revealed what was addressed during an appearance on MMAJunkie Radio in September.

“I’ve spoken to the UFC about it. They don’t want me shouting at the officials on the broadcast. That was my feedback from it. At the same time, I don’t want to be put in a position where an official isn’t doing their job. … I just want accountability. That’s all I want. We’re in a sport where people can get seriously hurt – permanently seriously hurt.”
